Neighbour is my graduation short film. The story is about a hearing girl who develops a friendship with a deaf girl through learning sign language.

The entire production was carried by me. The final version of the film has captions suitable for the deaf/hard of hearing audience

Lisa and Olive are being introduced to each other by their parents. Soon, Lisa realises that Olive, her neighbour, is deaf.
Regardless, Lisa proves that she is willing to learn BSL from Olive.
​
As the story progresses and Olive teaches her language, furniture in the house turns into hands forming actual BSL signs for each object. With time, both girls travel into imaginary world of sign language.
​
The culmination of the film is centered around Lisa's inner transformation: she realises the power of the BSL as the environment of the neighbourhood transforms into gigantic hands. (each equivalent to the meaning).
